Job Overview
Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) Northern Railway, New Delhi, invites online applications for engagement of 4116 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 at multiple Divisions, Units, and Workshops across Northern Railway. This apprenticeship training aims to impart practical skill-building and does not guarantee employment after training completion.
Eligibility
- Passed SSC/Matriculation (10th class) or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
- Possession of an NCVT/SCVT recognized ITI certificate in the relevant trade.
- Applicants must have cleared ITI before notification date; waiting results not eligible.
- Age between 15 and 24 years as on 24 December 2025.
- Age relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD, and additional relaxation for Ex-Servicemen according to rules.
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per government norms.

Vacancy Details
The total 4116 apprenticeships are divided trade-wise and division-wise. Trades include Fitter, Electrician, Carpenter, Welder, Machinist, Turner, Stenographer, Data Entry Operator, and many others. Candidates must carefully choose the trade and division/cluster to apply for, ensuring the trade matches their ITI specialization.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting based on combined merit calculated equally from SSC and ITI percentages.
- In case of tie, older candidate preferred; then earlier matriculation passing candidate.
- No written or oral examination; merit and document verification basis selection.
- Final merit list prepared trade-wise and division-wise as per notified slots.
Application Fee
- Rs. 100 (non-refundable) payable online during application except for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates who are exempted.
- If payment fails or is pending, candidates must perform new transaction; transaction charges borne by candidates.
